Recently, I was so moved to read the words of appreciation below from a bride for whose wedding ceremony and cocktail hour I had the honor to play earlier this year.
While every review means so much to me, occasionally I get a review that gets me choked up, and that was this review.
For this wedding, I brought all my powers of piano playing to a large set of classical music that featured music by Chopin, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Strauss, Anton Rubinstein, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, and more, all in all, some 80 pages of sheet music delivered with just two weeks’ notice. It was my most challenging assignment yet.
In addition, I played a duet with a violinist, “The Swan,” by Camille Saint-Saens for the bride's entrance, which was a delight and an honor.
After the wedding, the bride told me in person that it brought her tears of joy to hear me play the “Liebestraume” by Liszt just before she walked down the aisle. This means the world to me to hear, especially because I appreciate how live music, particularly romantic piano, has a special way of reaching a bride’s heart on such an overwhelming and magical day as her wedding day.
It’s all I can hope for, and I am deeply grateful for this bride's glowing review.
