In this post, I will be glad to share a bit more about how I like to keep things real as an artist and all.
In this world of endless fake profiles, cancel culture, and more flash than ever, I do not see the point in being anything other than sincere, especially when I talk about my musical work. By turns, I embrace vocal music and instrumental music as a musician. It's fun, in fact, to toss words out the window in the act of making instrumental music and, yet, as a singer, I find that there's so much about words to love, especially when they come from the heart.
For me, Valentine's Day presents a special opportunity to pull out my love songs and simply sing from my heart. It doesn't have to take many words or a lot of stuff to do it. It's easy to see the benefits of going out into the world singing with just a guitar. Whereas I sometimes feel like an extension of my piano keyboard that is not as portable as the guitar and yet no less inviting to me.
The fascination continues for me with words and music, after all these years.
Have you had a chance to check out my song stories for “Josefina” and “Dot to Dot?” Among plenty of things to chat about, I continue to enjoy talking about my songwriting process.
